Welcome to the Hopkinton High School and Hopkinton Middle School web site.

Our school serves approximately 480 students in grades 7-12, and is located in Contoocook, one of three villages that make up the small, quiet town of Hopkinton, NH. The town has almost 5000 residents, and lies on the Contoocook River just west of Concord. Our proximity to major eastern cities affords many cultural opportunities, and the river, forests, and farmlands provide rich opportunity for field study.

Hopkinton High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the New Hampshire Department of Education; it is also a member institution of the College Board. Average Scholastic Aptitude Test scores (Crit. Reading = 585, Writ. = 570, Math = 536) regularly meet or exceed state and national averages. In recent years, 94% of our graduates have continued their education beyond high school.

The high school is organized by academic departments from which students may select courses according to their needs and interests. All classes are open to all students, provided that applicable prerequisites are completed. The curriculum is characterized by its depth and breadth, and by the integration of field studies, in- and out-of-country travel, School and Work partnerships, and the use of technology.

Hopkinton Middle School, a school within a school, serves students in grades 7 and 8. It is organized around grade-level teaching teams that work with heterogeneous class groups. The curriculum is prescribed, and students complete full-year courses in English, mathematics, social studies, science, and foreign languages, plus shorter courses in the unified arts.

Students in both schools participate in a wide variety of activities, teams, and clubs, including: Baseball, Basketball, Cheer-leading, Chorus, Concert Band, Drama Club, Field Hockey, First Robotics, Football, Forensics, French Exchange Program, German-American Partnership Program, Golf, Granite State Challenge Team, Hockey, Interact Club, KIVA, Math Team, Modern Language Honor Society, Model UN, National Honor Society, Peer Outreach, Skiing, Soccer, Softball, Spanish Club, Steel Pan Band, Student Advisory Council, Student Council, The Talon, Track, and Yearbook.
